Getting to Long Town
- By air: Flights from Vientiane to Luang Namtha depart 3 times per week and take one hour.
- By bus: From Vientiane (Northern bus station) to Luang Namtha via Luang Prabang takes about 24 hours.
- By bus/minivan from Houaxai to Luang Namtha about 2.5 hours at 45,000 LAK a seat.
- From Luang Namtha small buses depart one time per day 08:00 at 45,000 LAK a seat about 110 Km or from Muang Sing town depart one 2 time per day 08:30 and 12:30 and from Vieng Phoukha to Long town around 70 km but no local public transport, only use owner car (only 4 wheel car).

What to do and to see?
Enjoy the scenery along the Long River, do some trekking to unspoiled villages, explore Xieng Kok, a little river port town along the Mekong River, about 72 km from Muang Sing. It serves as a trading port, especially for Chinese and Lao traders. It is possible to hire a speedboat from here to Huay Xay in Bokeo, Long District Morning Market, the scenery along the Long River, explore Xieng kok-Mekong River and minority village
Activities
