| Trip Overview |
| The Nam Tha River is the artery of North-West Laos especially Luang Namtha Province, the river cuts through parts of the Nam Ha NPA, revealing some rare stands of old growth forest and passing by villages of diverse ethnic groups. Kayaking trip-closely observing the flora and fauna of this region offers a unique experience in the naturally diverse landscapes of Northern Laos and visit different ethnic groups as Black Tai, Mien-Lanten, Mon-Khmer, Tai Lue and stay overnight with Tai Lue family. Day 2 start trek to explore the Nam Ha National Protected Area-an ASEAN Natural Heritage Site, you will spend two nights at the bamboo jungle forest camp host by the guides & you, on the jungle trail you will see and hear many different of birds, if you lucky you will see as: monkey, barking dear, gibbon, wild pigs and jungle fowl and enjoy Nam Ha landscape and the warm hospitality of the Khmu guides. |

| Itinerary |
| Day 1: Luang Namtha-Boat Landing-Ban Sinh Oudom. Approx. 6-7 hours |
Start from our office by Tuk Tuk, when arrival the river first of all we learn with the guides about some basic paddle instruction before taking to the river in the single, kayaks or raft. After that we paddling to visit Lantan minority people of Ban Sop Tude, after visit we enjoy with exciting rapids but safe paddling lead up to a lunch break on the banks of the river. After Lao picnic lunch, the next paddling to the Khmu village of Ban Sop Sim Noi and the final direct to Ban Sinh Oudom (Lue Sam Tao village) where we stay overnight with the family.

| Day 2: Ban Sinh Oudom-Banana Leaf Camp. Approx. 6-7 hours |
After enjoy traditional breakfast at the Tai Lue homestay, the guides leading you hike through rice paddies and up into the mountains of Nam Ha NPA. Along the trail you will see many species of birds, monkeys and deer are occasionally seen, your guide will teach you how to make a bird call, dear barking and squirrel sounds, see many types of NTPs (Non Timber Forest Products) and your guides will share their experience about traditional medicines. Lunch is eaten in the forest shade near the stream, we will arriving in the jungle forest camp around 4 pm, over there easy walking in the jungle near the forest camp following the trail, searching animal footprints and other elements that prove the presence in the forest of many wild lives further monkey, barking dear, gibbon, wild pigs and jungle fowl. The guide will point out interesting useful plants and herbal medical care such as cardamoms, galangals...after dinner overnight in the jungle forest camp hosted by Khmu people.

| Day 3: Banana Leaf Jungle Forest Camp-Bamboo Camp. Approx. 5-6 hours |
In the early morning you will hear a lot kind of animals scream from the higher mountain and nearly the camp. After breakfast you continue trek deep into inside of the Nam Ha NPA, lunch will be served you in the traditional way in the forest along the trail. The guides know how to boil water and make soup within vessels made of bamboo. They will encourage you to take part in the preparation of the meal, showing you how to construct simple spoons and chopsticks from leaves and cups from bamboo. They will also brew a medicinal tea from wild plants collected along the way. You will arrive at the camp around 4 pm.

| Day 4: Bamboo Camp-Luang Namtha. Approx. 5-6 hours |
Again, you will be woken early by the sound of jungle birds and insects, after breakfast you continues walk up and down on the mountain through rainforest and bamboo forest. The traditional lunch will provide along the way. After lunch 2 hours walk through jungle forest and the Tuk Tuk is waiting to take us back to Luang Namtha.

- Fitness level-Difficulty
To reach and experience a variety of visually rewarding landscapes and ecosystems, the trek hike can be strenuous at times. So the tour is best suited to trekkers in sound physical condition. Expect to paddling around 6-7 hours on day 1, walk 6-7 hours on day 2 and a further 5-6 hours on day 2 and day 3 including ascents and descents Good fitness levels will minimize body stress and enhance your positive trekking experience.
- Foot protection and safe walking
A good quality pair of well fitting shoes with effective traction is essential. Either a pair of ‘runners’ or lightweight trekking boots are highly recommended for safety (foot and ankle protection), sureness of travel and overall enjoyment
- Sun Protection
A broad brimmed hat is best, with water resistant ‘block out’ (sun screen cream), cool long shirt sleeves, cool trousers, sunglasses
- Insect protection. For comfort and safety regarding possible insect bites and stings we suggest

- There are no western-style toilets and washing facilities.
- Sleeping is on a banana leaf floor, dormitory style.

All areas are frequented by tourists because all trekking areas are supervised by Laos Tourism Administration, which means other trekkers may be in the area. |
